Dreams: Guidestones to Inner Healing

Have you ever woken from a dream with the thought: “That was crazy, where did that come from?” You may have shrugged and gone about your business, and the memory of the dream disappeared. Until the next dream, that was just like that last dream.
In dreams, we can tap into the spiritual realm without our thoughts and negative beliefs getting in the way. When we’re asleep, our guards are down and we’re open. If God has been trying to get our attention, and we cannot hear, many times He will get the message through while we sleep.
Dreams can seem crazy and make no sense, and you may ask, how can God possibly be talking to me with silly stories and strange conversations that sometimes take place in my dream world? To answer that great question, let’s turn to scripture. Yeshua (Jesus) came to reveal the Father and truth to a world in need. In his three years of ministry, he drew crowds wherever he went. Many times, he would begin to teach the crowds about God’s kingdom using parables, which are symbolic stories containing deep meaning. The people loved the stories and the free bread that sometimes accompanied them, but often they walked away shaking their heads in confusion. Even his disciples would ask him, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
Jesus answered, “To you has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but not to them. For those who listen with an open heart, will be given more understanding, But those who are unteachable, even the understanding that they think they have will be taken from them.” (From Matthew chapter 13).
Simply put, those who are open to hearing from God will be given an understanding of the truth. Those who are not open will not. So, God hides truth in symbols to protect them and also uses “hidden treasures” to draw them out of their blindness. If someone has a hunger and desire to know truth, that person will pursue it and God will reward them with understanding. If they are not open, they are protected by the hiddenness of the truth, for we are held responsible for all that we know.
So, let’s apply this to dreams. Dreams are sometimes described as “night parables” they work similarly to Jesus’ stories in scripture. There are deep truths and messages from heaven hidden in the symbols. If someone desires to understand, they can seek God for the answers. He is faithful to show them what He is saying.
So, what does this have to do with inner healing?
I’m glad you asked. Our good Father desires to draw everyone into a saving relationship with Himself through His Son. That is number one. Secondly, He desires that we be healed and whole body, soul, and spirit. When we come to Him, He often shows us, through His Holy Spirit, where we need healing.
If we’ve experienced a lot of pain and trauma in our lives, He will show us where to begin our healing journey. If we are on a journey of growth and maturation in our walk with the Lord, He will sometimes put a focus on areas that have been hindering our progress.
Let’s see in real life how a dream can highlight a message from God.
Below is a sample dream that was submitted to me for interpretation.
I was giving birth and after delivering the baby, I realized there was another baby still inside, but it wasn't ready to come out yet. The next day I ended up delivering it myself because no one was in the hospital room with me. I was holding it and it began to suckle. I realized I still had the afterbirth and needed help getting it out. I was waiting for someone to come in to help me.
Here is the interpretation I got for her with help from the Lord:
This dream is about the dreamer. The dreamer may be entering a new season full of promises fulfilled and dreams coming true. She may feel alone and on her own in it, but Yeshua is with her and she is in a place of safety and healing. The day between births may indicate that this process will not happen all at once, but will take time to see the fullness of the outcome. The help with afterbirth, which may be another indication of a process, may also mean that the promise will require cleaning up some messes and loose ends before the promise reaches maturity. Waiting indicates a need for patience in the process, she will learn this virtue as she trusts her helper to come. Delivering twins may indicate a double portion, but adversely could also indicate the dreamer’s inner child needing attention in this process. Overall, I see The Most High showing the dreamer that He is fulfilling His promise to her, it may be messy, difficult, and will require patience, but He will fulfill it and He will be there to help her as it takes place and as it reaches full maturity.
For those of us who are ready to hear and see, God is ready to reward our desire for truth. Dreams are one of many ways that our Creator will speak to us. To learn more about growing in faith, please message me and let’s discuss
