Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Cor. 5:20-21
There is a shift in perspective that changes everything in the life of a believer.
Christianity is not merely a religion—it is a government. And as believers, we are not just followers—we are citizens of that Kingdom.
Scripture says, “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20)
This means our identity, our authority, and our way of living are not rooted in the systems of this world. We belong to a higher Kingdom—and we represent it here.
Not only are we citizens of Heaven, but we are also called ambassadors.
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us…” 2 Corinthians 5:20
An ambassador is an official representative of a legitimate government, sent into a foreign land to represent its authority and culture. That is our role.
We live here—but we represent there.
One of the greatest barriers to living in this reality is the confusion between truth and facts.
Facts are the details of what is happening around us—our circumstances, challenges, and current conditions. They are real, but they are not ultimate.
Truth is higher.
Truth comes from the Kingdom of God and has the power to override and transform our experience of reality.
To live as ambassadors, we must become more convinced of truth than of facts. This does not mean ignoring reality—it means allowing truth to redefine it.
The Culture of the Kingdom
As ambassadors, we don’t just represent authority—we represent culture.
What does the culture of Heaven look like?
Scripture gives us a clear picture in Romans 12:9–21:
Love without hypocrisy. Clinging to what is good. Being devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honoring others above ourselves. Remaining patient in tribulation. Continuing steadfastly in prayer. Living generously, humbly, and peaceably. The Kingdom is expressed through love, humility, service, generosity, and peace.
We are not here by accident—we are here on assignment.
Each of us has a sphere of influence—our relationships, environments, and opportunities—where we are called to represent Christ and carry His Kingdom into the earth.
Scripture tells us that we have been given everything we need for life and godliness in Him.
As we grow in awareness of who we are and where we belong, we begin to live differently.
We begin to:
respond instead of react,
walk in authority instead of fear,
and live with purpose instead of striving.
We bring Heaven to earth not only through what we say—but through how we live.
Ambassadors operate under the authority of the government they represent. They are backed by it, supported by it, and resourced by it.
In the same way, as representatives of Heaven, we are not alone, and we are not without provision.
However, we are also called to live in alignment with the Kingdom:
through stewardship, faithfulness, and obedience to the principles God has established.
Our lives become the meeting place where Heaven’s resources intersect with earthly reality.
